Put your hope in God

Why are you downcast O my soul?

Take the hand that has already reached down below.

Why stay in darkness when there is light?

He came for you, from the greatest heights.

For what is more contradictory,

Than this amazing grace story?

Of God becoming man,

Of the greatest love being pierced with nails in hand!

So even when this darkness falls,

The One who came down sees you through it all.

From first breath to final end,

Jesus is your greatest friend.

O God my God,

Who am I that you are mindful of me?

When the heavens declare your glory,

Who am I to declare this gospel story?

Why are you downcast my soul?

Put your hope in God for I will yet praise him
