The holiday rush has finally simmered down and life returns to its usual rhythms. For many, the winter months may even provide a chance to slow the pace of life and take a rest. We can revel at the quietness of a gentle snowfall, unique to wintertime. Though our schedules and activities may go into a form of hibernation, daylight once again increases day by day, reminding of God's constancy and light. It's all too easy to look around at our world and find it bleak with problems that seem only to grow. But the quietness of this season can be a time to start the year fresh and anew, to sweep away old grievances and lay our burdens at Our Father’s feet. I don't know what this year will bring, but I will revel in the Father's embrace, listen for His voice, and trust Him to lead me.
“Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:3-4.
