During a busy week, everything seems like a blur. Get up in the morning, get ready and out of the door; fight your way through crowded public transportation or traffic; get to work, deadlines, meetings; long commute home, cooking and house chores; put kids to bed or take care of aging parents; and finally you are ready for bed. Living in a metropolis, we are so busy and always have the next task on our mind that we lost touch with ourselves and with God.
In Luke 10:38-42, story of Martha and Mary is a good reminder of what our priority should be when comes to serving our God. Luke 10:41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Let's not be distracted by daily tasks and let's focus on fixing our eyes on our loving Father. A short daily prayer in a busy day will still remind us that God is always with us. It's us that forget to seek him sometimes.
