The Rev. Ben Kong has been a proud New Yorker for five plus decades. From elementary to middle school, high school to college, his life has been embedded in New York City.

Ben graduated from New York University (1986) with a double major in finance and management and entered the wild world of finance. After five fulfilling years in the corporate world, he left his beloved N.Y. for the only time in his life to matriculate at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts.

Missing his hometown profusely, his first ministry was a miraculous calling to return to his home church [Oversea Chinese Mission, NY] where he served as associate English pastor for seven years (1993-2000).

Ben joined the Christian & Missionary Alliance denomination in 2001, serving as English ministry lead pastor and then senior pastor of Queens Herald Church, C&MA. He grew the English ministry from less than 20 people upon arrival to its height of 400 pre-covid. He concluded his tenure at Queens Herald Church in August 2021.

After taking personal time for rest and renewal, God used his wife to kick Ben off the comfort of the couch and returned him to where it all began, coming full circle back to his home church in June 2023 as the English Ministry lead pastor.

He, along with his wife Cindy and two adult children currently reside in Morningside Heights, their home for the past two decades and counting.
