信託 Trustee
My name is Sharon Lai and I've been a part of the OCM family since around 2000. As a long-time attendee, I had the privilege of serving on the worship team, leading small groups, being on Cornerstone staff, and going on several short term mission trips. Outside of OCM, I was most recently a mentor and served on the leadership team with the Professional Mentoring Program of International Students Inc as well as partnering with the medical team of Don’t Walk By, an annual outreach event to the homeless living in NYC. Throughout these experiences, there are a few lessons I learned along the way that remain unchanged. First - no matter how much we do and plan, ultimately it is God’s plan that will carry on. Second - I firmly believe that every single person has a gift/ talent to be used within the body of Christ, whether great or small, visible or invisible to others. Lastly, attendance number is not a measure of success of any church event but rather the number of hearts changed. On a more personal late, hospitality is one of my spiritual gifts and I love having gatherings and backyard BBQs with my (actually it’s a Father’s Day present for my dad) 36” Blackstone griddle (on Staten Island). I am humbled to be nominated and it is these lessons that I will continue to carry with me if I am chosen to serve on the BOT.
