What is the purpose of this class?
The Gospel Project is a Christ-centered, chronological Bible study that guides its participants in encountering the gospel of Jesus Christ on every page of scripture. Through our study together, we will discover that the Bible is not a collection of stories, but one unified story of God’s plan of redemption to rescue his people from sin through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ! Jesus is not part of the Bible story, he is its main theme—every story points to our need for Jesus. As we see how the pages of scripture point to Jesus, let us point one another to Jesus! May we grow together as a gospel community, experiencing the heart transformation that only the gospel can bring and thus becoming a reflection of our Savior to a world that ever needs the light of his salvation. What can we expect? Using Zoom, we can expect blocks of lecture-style teaching with PowerPoint as well as multiple small group times to help us discuss the material through its “breakout rooms” feature. In terms of content, we can expect discussions focused on the text, discover how it points to Christ, and consider the ways we can apply this word to all spheres of life. Strongly encouraged is to also participate in daily devotionals as part of The Gospel Project daily discipleship guide. Please email me at email@example.com for your questions and concerns. I look forward to our time together!
Hard Sayings of Jesus by FF Bruce
The hard sayings of Jesus are not necessarily hard to understand but they can be hard to live. Bruce wrote:
If the following pages explain the hard sayings of Jesus in such a way as to make them more acceptable, less challenging, then the probability is that the explanation is wrong.
In this class we will be looking at various teachings of Christ to understand what he taught and how it applies to our present cultural context.
The first and third Sundays of every month from 3:00pm-3:45pm and the first and third Thursdays of every month from 8:00pm-8:45pm
