From The Desk of Administrator
1. Event Support
A new Room and Equipment Request Form is being developed to simplify and improve event support. Request for major (involving large / multiple spaces in the building) event support need to be submitted at least one month in advance to the Office Coordinator. Please note: the Administrator reserves the right to decline or alter requests based on feasibility, personnel, schedule conflicts, and/or resources.
2. Food / Snacks
Ministry groups are encouraged to order, purchase, and/or pick-up their own food/snacks for their meetings and events. The office staff cannot be responsible for this function nor its excess leftovers. Leftovers will be discarded without hesitation. Permission must be sought from the Administrator before using the propane gas powered grill on the 9th floor patio. A $10 fee will be charged to each group for the use of the grill. All users must clean the grill after its use.
3.Printing
The priority for printing will be dependent on the printed material: The printing policy is established to promote conservation of our paper and energy resources at OCM. IT has identified that the majority of the printing is originating from the church staff and lay-leadership. Individuals are encouraged to print double-sided and to use the least amount of paper whenever possible, even if their event is sizeable. For example, if the intent of a Sunday insert is to attract a group of less than 30 people, then it is highly recommended that the host prints no more than 100 copies and provide it at an accessible area such as the Information Desk. Better yet, create a registration form (1 page!) to sign-up 30 people and/or include a blurb in the Sunday bulletin or on the OCM website (paperless!). If flyers are intended to attract those outside the church, use leftover inserts (if possible). Otherwise, flyers should be printed on an as needed basis and should not exceed 500 copies total. Please keep in mind, these measures are intended to counter waste, not prevent or hinder your ministry. The Administrator will remain flexible to revise this policy periodically and accordingly to the various ministries’ growing needs.
4. Rentals
Private groups may rent spaces in the building upon approval from the Administrator and the Senior Pastor. Daily rates for up to a maximum of four hours are as follows:
9th Floor Patio: $350
Classrooms: $100
2nd Floor Fellowship Hall: $500
Main Sanctuary: $800
Basement: $500
5. Signage
All signage in the building must be approved by the Administrator and Pastoral Staff. Posting signage on doors, windows, and the building exterior with adhesives is prohibited. All OCM printed material should bear its official logo [see cover page]. It should not be altered in anyway except by displaying the crowned shield sans the wording/Chinese characters. The accompanying colors are purple, gold, and white.
6. Sound Permit
To apply for a sound permit, contact the Office Coordinator who will work with the 5th Precinct to obtain one.
