Ministry Overview:

The Chinese Ministry Pastor will provide pastoral leadership, to nurture and shepherd the Chinese speaking (Mandarin) congregation. The Chinese Ministry Pastor's responsibilities shall include: recruiting and training lay leaders; Preach and oversee Chinese Sunday worship services; Provide Pastoral care as required through counseling and visitation; Developing and managing preventive, enrichment, and remedial programs of the Chinese ministry; Maintaining proper coordination and working relationships with the church staff, lay leaders, and lay volunteers and Accomplishing all the administrative duties required to keep this ministry functioning effectively.If, and when necessary, the Mandarin speaking pastor will assist in the various ministries of the English speaking congregation, leading to the completion of the total vision and objective of the church.

 

Qualifications:
1. Call and Commitment to ministry:

a) A call and commitment to full-time ministry.

b) To have a deeply committed Christian faith, a genuine spirituality and a humble spirit.

c) To have a heart for OCM’s vision for the Chinese ministry (Mandarin) and seek to serve, shepherd and minister the Chinese ministry (Mandarin).

2. Educational Attainment:

a) Preferably Masters of Divinity degree or equivalent from a Seminary

3. Ministry Experience:

a) Must have at least 5 years of church experience

b) Preferably ordained

4. Character/Traits/Skills
a) Exhibit strong Christian Character as stated in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 that demonstrates a close relationship with God through personal devotion, worship and prayer life.

b) Is enthusiastic, high energy, self-starter, an encourager, visionary and people person who enjoys and maintains healthy relationships with people.

c) Has a Christ-like attitude as stated, in Philippians 2:5 that is accepting and inclusive of all the diverse parts of the body of Christ.

5. Work Ethic/Team

a) To be a hard-working self-starter and willing to do “whatever it takes” for the ministry

b) Able to lead energizing, dynamic trainings and inspiring workshops

c) To be a good team player under the supervision of the senior pastor; supporting and encouraging other staffs.

6. Languages

Mandarin and English, Cantonese a plus.

7. Literacy

Chinese and English
